This course is an introduction to the principles of general chemistry, organic chemistry, and biochemistry with laboratory for students in nursing. General chemistry topics include chemical bonding and structure, atomic theory, equilibrium, acids and bases, solutions, and radioactivity. Organic and biochemistry topics include organic nomenclature, functional groups and their properties and reactions, and biologically important molecules and their roles in the human body. Prerequisite: QR 101 or test out or able to enroll in MA 101A, MA 105, MA 210, or MA 211
