Course Description

This course will present a survey of the corrections system in the United States. Topics to be covered will include the institutions, functions, processes, and mission of the correction system, as well as the history of corrections, prison culture and staffing, prison litigation, probation and parole, public and correctional facilities, and careers in corrections. Prerequisite: CJ 100
