Course Description

Building on the principles and concepts contained in MR 131. Radiologic Physics, this course requires an in-depth study of: 1) the functioning, operation and optimal utilization parameters for current Radiologic imaging equipment; 2) the principles and design considerations associated with Radiologic equipment installations 3) the principles and practices underlying the development of Radiation Safety practices by international, national and state radiation regulating bodies. Submission of a radiation shielding plan which is acceptable to the state?s Radiation Control Program will be required as will the preparation and presentation of an in-depth analysis of the radiation safety procedures and practices of an assigned Radiology Department.
