Course Description
This core MPH course introduces students to the history, philosophy, and essential functions of public health. Emphasis is placed on the social, political, and structural determinants of health, health equity, and the role of policy and systems thinking in shaping population outcomes. Students gain foundational knowledge in prevention, assessment, and community health services while developing the skills needed to address contemporary public health challenges.
